Arthur Glenn Pavlak, 63, formerly of Batavia, passed away on May 13, 2008 at his home in Buena Vista, Colorado. He was born March 23, 1945 in Pana, Illinois, the son of Edward and Kathliene (nee. Jones) Pavlak. He was united in marriage to Jackie Tilley.At the young age of eight, Art and his family moved to Batavia. Following graduation from Batavia High School, Art served in the U.S. Air Force before taking up employment at Furnas Electric. Art later worked for Northern Illinois University for thirty-five years until his retirement at the age of 55. On May 13, 2007 he moved with his sister to Buena Vista, CO.Art was a private man with simple needs. His passion in life was to spend time fishing, which he did almost every day. He and his best friend Norm Schurr have traveled to nearly every river, lake and pond in Illinois and Wisconsin to fish. Art and his son John traveled to many states out west to find the best fishing spots. His dog Snowball was his treasure. Art is survived by a son John (Heather) Pavlak , one grandson Landon Pavlak, all of Duquoin, IL; his sister Mary Pavlak of Buena Vista, CO, four brothers, Carl (Karen) Pavlak of Mt. Home, AK, Robert (Gale) Pavlak of Elburn, IL, Fred Pavlak of Oswego, IL and Richard (Linda) Pavlak of Sunlakes, AZ.In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister-in-law Sharon Pavlak. Memorial services will be held 7:00 P.M. Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Moss Family Funeral Home 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be held private at River Hills Memorial Park.
