Marion Carol Curtis, 83, of North Aurora, IL, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at Presence Mercy Hospital in Aurora, IL. She was born on December 20, 1933, in Joliet, IL, the daughter of Elmer and Dagmar Fredrickson. She was united in marriage to Harold Curtis for 54 years.
Marion was a graduate of West Aurora High School. She was employed as a filing clerk at Farmers Insurance, Telephone Operator at Illinois Bell Telephone and Provider of Youth Services at the North Aurora Public Library.
She devoted her life to the nurturing of her family, raising her children in the local church, The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in North Aurora. Marion loved children, and enjoyed baking and embroidering gifts for family and friends. She was a devoted and model caregiver to aging family members. She loved God and as an adult returned to the church of her childhood, the Batavia Covenant Church.
She is survived by sons, Paul (Roxanne) of Batavia, IL and Wendell of North Aurora, IL; daughter-in-law Pamela Curtis of Crystal Lake, IL; sister Judy Huss; grandchildren, Melissa Curtis (Dan Simpson), Heather (Frank) Modica and Brandon (Joslin) Curtis; and nephews Ronald (Carol) and Richard (Venida) Hauser, James (Nia) Klein, and nieces Constance (Randy) Sondalle, Elizabeth, Katherine, and Susan Huss.
She is preceded in death by her son David, and sister Lois Klein.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, April 7th, 2017 at Batavia Covenant Church, 1314 Main Street, Batavia, IL. The family will receive guests from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
