Mary Ellen Pavlak, 78, a longtime resident of Batavia passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 at Michealsen Health Care Center in Batavia. She was born September 11, 1938 in Pana, IL, the daughter of Edward and Kathleen (Jones) Pavlak.
Mary was raised in Pana, IL, moved to Batavia and graduated from Batavia High School. She was employed by Aurora Pump for many years. Mary was an active woman who enjoyed outdoor activities: hiking, snowmobiling, skiing, travel and shopping. Mary was a talented artist who loved to paint with oils. During the years, she loved her special treats: margaritas, ice cream and root beer. Her greatest joy was time spent with her grand and great-grandchildren. Mary retired to Buena Vista, CO where she appreciated the mountains and enjoyed the outdoors.
She is survived by her children Scott (Tami) Patzer of Denver, CO and Sherri (Corey) Clark of Batavia; four grandchildren, Morgan Villalpando, Jarret Clark, Katy and Ian Patzer; two great-grandchildren Maliah and Lilyana Villalpando; four brothers, Carl (Karen), Robert (Gale), Fred (Barbara), and Richard Pavlak; many nieces and nephews, and former husband and dear friend Warren Patzer.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her infant son Sean and her brother Arthur Pavlak.
A memorial service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held 12:00 P.M. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Moss Family Funeral Home 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
