John Joseph Masus

May 16, 1943 - May 9, 2018

John Joseph Masus, 74, of St. Charles, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.  John was born on May 16, 1943 in Chicago, Il. the son of John J. and Sonja (nee. Zelinski) Masus.  He was united in marriage to Karen Joy Speck (nee. Larson) on April 15, 1989 in St. Charles, IL.

John proudly served in the US Army from 1960 until 1964.  He worked for Met Life for over 20 years before starting Masus Financial Group in 1992 in Batavia.  John enjoyed traveling, sailing and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

John is survived by his loving wife Karen,   his son, Todd (Karen) Masus, one step-son, Zachary (Becki) Speck, four grandchildren, Katelyn Speck, Nicholas Masus, Nathan Masus and Ryan Speck, a sister, Judy Cano, a niece, Lisa (Ron) Geiger, and a nephew, Chris Cano.

Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on May 17, 2018 at Christ Community Church, 37W100 Bolcum Rd, St. Charles, IL 60175.   A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 6:00 PM also at the church.  Interment will be held privately in Wisconsin.

Memorial donations in John’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 225 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60601.
