Carolyn Ruth Reed

July 15, 1940 - June 9, 2018

Carolyn R. Reed, 77, of the Greenfields Retirement Community in Geneva and formerly of Elgin, Crystal Lake, North Aurora and Naperville.  She was born in Sterling, IL on July 15, 1940 the daughter of Rev. John and Grace (Byas) Bouldin.  Carolyn was united in marriage to Paul H. Reed June 16, 1963 in Naperville, IL. 

Carolyn was a 1962, graduate of North Central College in Naperville with a degree in Education.  Carolyn taught at various schools in Naperville until she shifted her priorities to raising her children.  Later in Carolyn’s life she served as a secretary at the First United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake before working as the secretary for the Dean of Technology at McHenry County College.    

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband Paul Reed; three children Karen Williams, Janet (Eric Dyja) Reed and Michael (Stacy) Reed; five grandchildren, Jessica (Joe Brandstatter) Williams, Tyler Williams, Samantha Reed, Ryker Reed and Sebastian Reed; and two sisters, Marie (Jack) Wohlfeil, and Nancy Chapman; and many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother Rev. Lawrence Bouldin. 

A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Moss-Norris Funeral Home 100 South Third Street St. Charles, IL. 

A private committal and interment will be held in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Aurora. 

Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
