Amber Sue Thaler "Carter"

April 3, 1997 - August 2, 2018

Amber Sue Thaler “Carter” 21, of Sugar Grove, IL died after a long battle with depression/bipolar disorder on the evening of Thursday, August 2, 2018. She was born on April 3, 1997 in Louisville, KY.

Amber left behind her mother Kira(Bobby) Harper nee Rushing; brother Kevin, sisters Shelby and Jenna; her grandfather Roger Rushing; her father Steven (Terri) Thaler; and grandmother Irene Thaler. She also left many aunts, uncles and cousins.

From the day Amber Sue entered our lives at 5 weeks old, she was a force to be reckoned with. Using that huge magnetic wonderful “sidewinder” smile and big beautiful brown eyes that would shine with mischief and humor, she melted the hearts of everyone she met.

She was an exceptional athlete and avid softball player. When the “Boot scoot boogie” was in her element on the field, there wasn’t any ball she wouldn’t catch. She also loved playing the guitar and singing when no one could hear, sending out a soulful melodic sound that resonated to your soul. She was never one to give anything less than 100% of herself to everything and everyone she knew.

Amber will be missed every day for the rest of our lives.

Memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M Friday, August 10, 2018, at Moss Family Funeral Home 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL 60510. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M until the time of service at the funeral home.

In honor of Amber, please consider making a donation to Cat Guardians, http://www.catguaridans.org or the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI)  https://www.nami.org/

  • LJ I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter, sibling, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. I also struggle with depression, fighting your own mind, is a terrible thing. I look forward to the time when God will undue the pain of both those suffering from these ailments, and those who have lost loved ones plagued by them. “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4) God will destroy depression and all other forms of sickness, and he will destroy death. He will also bring back to life those who have died, they will have the prospect of living forever in paradise on earth. (John 5:28,29) I look eagerly toward this time, may this hope comfort your greiving hearts during this difficult time.
