Clyde W. Wood

November 15, 1943 - November 8, 2018

Clyde "Woody" W. Wood, 74, of North Aurora, IL passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at home, in the company of family.

Clyde was born on November 15, 1943, in Mentor, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Clara (nee. Burgess), and his sister, Shirley Stowe.

Woody is survived by his loving wife,  Letitia "Tish" Wood, his sister, Beverly Sturm, his children, Eric (Connie) Wood, Sean P. Wood, and Jason (Mary) Wood, his grandchildren, Steven Wood, Jarrett Wood, Jamie Wood, Jesse Wood, John Wood, Tommy Cobb, Jimmy Cobb, Anna Szymczak, and Ayden Szymczak, one great-granddaughter, Leah Rose Brasfield, a great-grandson, who is due any day, and several nieces and nephews. 

Woody's family extends beyond his blood relatives to the dozens of friends with whom he regularly rode to all corners of the continent with on his Harley during his retirement. He considered every one of them his brothers and sisters too

Those who knew Woody know that he is a man who stands amongst giants. From his time in the Navy as a beach jumper during the Vietnam War, to the loving husband and doting grandfather he had become, Woody embodies every element of what a man is meant to be. He will be missed immensely by all of us who loved him and will never be forgotten.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave, Batavia IL, 60510, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 PM, also at the funeral home. Internment will be private.

Memorial donations in Clyde's name may be made to the Fox River Harley Davidson Chapter 2950, 131 S. Randall Rd, St. Charles, IL, 60174.
