Kathryn Marie Larson

May 26, 1953 - December 7, 2018

Kathryn Marie (Ripp) Larson, of St. Charles, IL, born on May 26th 1953, died on December 7th at home.  Kathryn, fondly called “Kittie” was born in Monroe, WI to Donald F. Ripp and Beatrice “Bea” (Marty) Ripp.  One of eight children, Kittie grew up in Monroe and graduated from Monroe High School in 1971. Upon graduation, Kittie went on to work at Marty Ripp Chevrolet as their bookkeeper.

Kittie met her husband; Scott Larson and they were united in marriage at St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe on May 9th 1980.Kit’s love of nature and all creatures spanned her lifetime.  She had many cherished pets and of course, kitties!  She never met an animal she didn’t like.  This trait was evident as she was the ‘mother’ of all the neighborhood cats. Kit was also a 2nd mother to the children that she babysat.  She nurtured and loved many children over her lifetime.Kittie had a creative side and loved art, music, movies and reading.  She enjoyed sharing these with her family. She also wrote beautiful poetry. Kittie will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor and quiet grace. Most of all, her unconditional love of her family and friends. She adored and cherished her daughter Lana. Their bond and love for one another was so very special. We will forever love and miss you our dear Kit. Your memory will live in our hearts always. Kittie was a treasure indeed!  

Surviving are her loving husband Scott Larson, daughter Lana Mehus, brothers Jerry (Linda) Ripp of O’Fallon, Missouri, Jeffery (Debbie) Ripp of Broadhead, John (Elizabeth) Ripp of Drexel, Pennsylvania, Joe (Karla) Ripp of Monroe, James Ripp of Monroe, sisters, Elizabeth Wuethrich (Monroe), Mary Ripp (Monroe), brother-in-law Brett (Jacquelyn) Larson, sister-in-law Renee (Chris) Vig and many cousins, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her mother Beatrice (Bea), her father Don, and brother-in-law Jerry.

A celebration of Kittie’s life with be held on Sunday, Dec.16th 2018 at 6pm at Moss Family Funeral Home 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL.  Pastor Trudy Stoffel officiating. A visitation will be held there from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The St. Charles Humane Society, The American Heart Association, or The Monroe Public Library in Kittie’s memory.
