Richard Lee Maytum

April 20, 1939 - December 17, 2018

Richard Lee Maytum, 79, of Warrenville passed away Monday, December 17, 2018.  Richard was born April 20, 1939 in Aurora the son of Lloyd and Helen (nee Fosbinder) Maytum.  He was united in marriage to Paula Garab October 17, 1998 in Warrenville, IL. 

Richard will be remembered for his dry wit, great sense of humor and the love he had for his family and friends.  He was a member of The Phoenix Club, Third Ward Club, St. Georges and the Batavia VFW.  Richard was employed at Burgess Norton Manufacturing for 23 years.  He then followed his passion into entrepreneurship where he owned and operated the Copper Lamp in Aurora for a few years. Rich then worked for Pamerco until he retired at the age of 70.  He loved to socialize, dance and travel.  

He is survived by his loving wife Paula; five children, Matthew Maytum, Brian (Marcia) Maytum, Jeffrey Maytum, Martin (Jen) Rosendahl, and Deanna (Gregory) Abler; seven grandchildren Lindsey (TJ) Butler, Logan Maytum, Michael (Crystal) Martin, Sara Martin, William Norman, Andrea Rosendahl and Andrew Abler; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother Robert Maytum.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Lauretta Sparks. 

Visitation will be held 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Moss Family Funeral Home 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL.  A funeral service will follow the visitation at 7:00 P.M.  Graveside committal services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday, December 21, 2018, at River Hills Memorial Park.
