Andrew Charles Hansen

May 24, 1954 - February 6, 2019

Sadly, Andrew “Andy” C. Hansen, 64, longtime resident of Crystal Lake and Palatine, passed away suddenly on Feb.6, 2019 at Delnor Hospital surrounded by family. Andrew was born on May 24,1954 in Falkirk, Scotland. He is the beloved son of the late Andrew C. Hansen Jr. and the late June M. Hansen (Bryant). He was united in marriage to Judyth Bachara on July 5, 2003 in Crystal Lake, IL.

As a child, he and his parents traveled to many places in Europe and eventually settling in Palatine, IL. During his younger years, he spent many years playing hockey and fishing, making many lifelong friends in the process. To this day, if you were a friend, you were family.

Andy attended and graduated from NIU where he studied Anthropology and German. He was a big history buff, angler, and hockey fan, but always had a special love for the Blackhawks.

He worked for American International Line as a general manger and was a member/treasurer for the MMSI club. There were many years of shows to display his talent in painting miniature soldiers. His love for military came out in this talent.

He is the beloved husband of the late Judyth and loving stepfather of Deborah (Michael) O'Donnell and three step-grandchildren.

Andrew is the loving brother of Laura (the late Alan) J. Chausse, Marta (Carl) I. Hulseberg, Sonia (the late David) K. Prescott, Christine (William) M. Kral, Teresa (Thomas) Voltz, and Peter (Alexis) C. Hansen.

He was a very kind person, always thinking of others, and a Scot. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Saturday February 9, 2019, 1:00PM to 4:00PM at Moss-Norris Funeral Home 100 S. 3rd St. St. Charles, IL. Funeral Service will begin at 4:00PM. Interment will be private.
