Karl R. Flodstrom

July 5, 1947 - February 13, 2019

Karl Flodstrom, 71, of Batavia passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.  It is with our deepest sorrow, we say good-bye to a good and kind man; who lived his life with malice toward none, charity for all, and with a life-long love of books and learning.  He graduated from Batavia High School, then completed his college degree from Knox College.  Following college, he worked as a credit counselor at several non-profit agencies for many years.

He leaves behind a loving wife of 38 years, Kathryn (nee. Gunnarson) Flodstrom; beloved daughter and son-in-law, Sonia (Wesley) Anderson; a dear son, Alexander Flodstrom; two cherished grandchildren, Clara and Ben Anderson; three sisters, Marguerite Larson, Dorothy Patzer and Maj Olausson; two brothers, Sven and Gus Flodstrom and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sven and Karin Flodstrom; two brothers, John and Ingemar Flodstrom and two nephews.

All services will be held privately at Moss Family Funeral Home, Batavia.  Interment will take place this spring at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia. 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Karl’s name may be made to the Batavia Public Library.
