Arlene L. Griessler

October 4, 1935 - March 4, 2019

Arlene L. Griessler, 83, of Elgin and formerly of Batavia passed away Monday, March 4, 2019, at Journey Care Hospice in Barrington, IL. Arlene was born in October 4, 1935, in Chicago, IL the daughter of Adam and Clara (ne Moravec) Jasinski. Arlene was united in marriage to Joseph Ernest Griessler June 18, 1955 at St. Francis of Rome Church in Cicero, IL.

She was an Avid World Traveler. Cooking, especially for large family gatherings. Fishing with husband and children. Flower gardening. Animals, feeding birds and her love of cats, especially Yum Yum and Ko Ko. She loved collecting Cook Books. Master of Bargain shopping. A Passion for Investing. Volunteer to the Elderly in Batavia. Member of the Red Hat Society. Her last career position was working for Wallace Computer Supply Services. And, she loved being a mother to her children, a homemaker, and grandma. 

Arlene is survived by her husband Joseph, three children, Joseph (Jan) Griessler, Suzanne (Norman) Lebavitz, and Glen (Joann) Griessler; eight grandchildren, Lisa (Anthony) Medina, Joseph Griessler, Adam (Michelle) Lebavitz, Steven Lebavitz, William (Kaycee) Lebavitz, Anna Lebavitz, Daniel (Kimberlee) Burhans, Michael (Anna) Burhans; eight great-grandchildren; a brother Dennis Jasinski; and many nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents. 

Visitation will be held 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 15, 2019 at Moss Family Funeral Home 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL.

Funeral services will begin with prayers 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 16, 2019 from Moss family Funeral Home, before proceeding to Holy Cross Catholic Church 2300 Main Street Batavia, IL to celebrate Mass at 10:30A.M.

  • Jan This woman has been my Mother In Law for 37 years. May she rest in pesce. No more pain and suffering. We will take good care of Dad so don't worry about him. We loved you in spite of our differences. We always kissed and made of and asked for forgiveness. I'll take care of your first born son (Joe) you're first Granddaughter Lisa and your Grandson whom we named Joseph. We will miss you, especially at the holidays.
