Jeffrey William Oman

May 23, 1954 - April 11, 2019

Jeffrey William Oman, 64, of Batavia passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Heritage Health Care in Mendota, IL.  Jeffrey was born May 23, 1954, in Geneva, IL the son of William and Patricia (Gunther) Oman.  He was united in marriage to Rose Thrun May 22, 1976 at Mooseheart House of God. 

Jeff was employed by L.R. Johnson in Batavia as a Heavy Equipment Operator for many years.  Having a passion for the outdoors and to server others he served as a Scout Master for Troop 6 for Boy Scouts of America.  Jeffrey loved to Camp it was said this favorite most relaxing time was to be camping in the woods.  He was also a skilled carpenter who enjoyed woodworking.  In his early days his nickname was “Rusty”, and he worked as a life guard at the Batavia Quarry.  

He is survived by his loving wife Rose; two children, Joshua (Daphne) Oman, and Brandi (James) Muetze; eight grandchildren, Kaylee, Amber, Jocelyn, Samantha, Izabella, Faith, Violet and Wyatt, and two great grandchildren, Loralie and Elijah; a brother Douglas Oman, a sister Kandace Oman and many nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Steven Oman.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 15, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL.  A prayer service will be held at 4:30 P.M.  A private interment will be held in River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia.
