Bon Swink

November 25, 1936 - April 28, 2019

Bon Swink, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at Bria of Geneva. He was born November 25, 1936, in Anna IL the son of Boyd and Gertrude (nee Westbrook) Swink. Bon was united in marriage to Juanita Ann (de la Cruz) Strange in 1979.

Bon was a man of strict routines and a dedicated loving man who adored his wife and their family.  Following the death of his loving wife Juanita, Bon made daily trips to visit her grave at River Hills Memorial park, followed by a trip to Walmart and then Steak and Shake. Bon was extremely handy with a wonderful mechanical mind.  He was especially proud of repairing small engines and was able to keep his friends and neighborhood lawnmowers running smooth. He was employed by Material services as a mechanic for 37 years prior to his retirement. 

Bon is survived by his son Gary Swink, Juanita’s six children; Mike (Kathy) Strange, Kurt Strange, Karen O’Rourke, Steve (Cathy) Strange, Ralph (Dawn) Strange and Robert (Sheri) Strange, many grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and his nieces and nephews, a brother Kenny Swink and a sister Janet (Homer) Hawk. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Juanita, a brother Donald Swink, a son Kirby Swink, and a grandson, Mitchel Strange. 

A committal service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 2, 2019 at River Hills Memorial Park Chapel. 

A memorial service will be held 4:00 P.M. Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Moss Family Funeral Home 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL.  Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
