Carol Louise Leppert

May 28, 1929 - July 25, 2019

Carol L. Leppert (Thuot) passed away on Thursday, July 25,2019, at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, IL. She was born on May 28, 1929 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Carl and the late Mae Leppert, her one sister also preceded her Ann Vasil.

She is survived by her two children, Leslie Ann Jordan, and Jay Douglas Thuot, four grandchildren, Rebecca, Timothy, John and Bryan Kunstman, and seven great grandchildren, and two close friends, who were like grandchildren to her, Jack Laursen and Jacob Livingston.

What she loved the most was buying old homes and remodeling them, doing a large portion of the work herself.  Carol spent her retirement years volunteering and working with children. All she really wanted in life was for the happiness of her children, grandchildren and the children she shared her life with. She has a quality about her that allowed her to be one with the children, and the children recognized her acceptance and love.

Her greatest joy was in having something to do with putting a smile on someone’s face. Her joy also came in creating beauty around her, whether it be remodeling a house, sewing, making stained glass, gardening, writing, and many other pursuits.  Carol has touched a number of lives, planted a number of seeds, and she will be missed by a number of friends.

How she would like to be remembered by those she cared about? ‘Celebrate my life, not my death.” And as the poet Rossetti said: “When I am dead, my dearest, sing no sad songs for me, for I am in the green grass, the gentle wind and the shady apple tree.”

Respecting Carol’s wishes, there will be a Celebration of her life at a later date.  Interment will be private.
