Neil Wayne Shaw

December 1, 1943 - August 22, 2019

Neil Wayne Shaw, 75, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019 in Batavia, IL. at his home surrounded by his family.  Neil was born on December 1, 1943 in Cleveland, OH., the son of Neil and Grace (nee. Speerhas) Shaw.  He was united in marriage to Wilma Marie Colen, on January 15, 1969 in Port Jefferson, New York.

Neil retired from the US Navy in 1982 after a 20 year career.  Being very young to just retire he embarked on another career with Eastman Kodak company.  He enjoyed many many positions with the company and after 18 years decided to leave the company and enjoy some free time.  That did not last long as Wilma was still worked no so he became a realtor since sales was always his forte. When Wilma retired in 2011 they enjoyed traveling and embarked on many trips both in the US and abroad.  Visiting the Netherlands, Italy, France and Switzerland.  He  looked forward to yearly trips to Hawaii to celebrate their anniversary in January.  This past January they enjoyed a two week cruise to French Polynesia.  He enjoyed retirement to the fullest.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Wilma M. Shaw; two children, Douglas (Quinn) Shaw and Deborah (David) Frydrychowicz; five grandchildren, Miranda Shaw, Christian and Grace Frydrychowicz, Christine Mayers and Noah Mayers; one brother, Cliff (Diane) Shaw; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL. 60510.  Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 also at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at 1:00 PM at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
