Catherine J. Pryor

March 18, 1951 - September 7, 2019

Catherine “Cathy” J. Pryor, 68, of Batavia, IL. passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at her home.  Cathy was born on March 18, 1951 in Chicago, IL., the daughter of Joseph and Helen (nee. McElligott) Jackson.  She was united in marriage to Steven George Pryor on February 27, 1971 in Wheaton, IL.

Cathy loved her family. She spent numerous years supporting her children & grandchildren in their sports & musical endeavors, always hosting an outdoor Easter egg hunt for the grandchildren. She was very creative, whether in crafts, sewing, needle work or making fun deserts. And took every chance to teach the grandkids how to bake or sew. Cathy was also adventurous and loved to travel, go camping & hiking, even fishing with her husband Steve.  Her sense of humor was the best. She was quite the jokester and found humor everywhere and the good in everyone.

Cathy is survived by her loving husband, Steven G. Pryor; her two children, Michael (Heidi) Pryor and Michelle (Kristopher) Stone; three grandchildren, Hunter (Corey) Mackin, Grace Pryor and Riley Pryor; one sister; Patricia Jackson; two brothers, John “Jack” (Cheri) Jackson and Joseph (Mary Anne) Dockery-Jackson, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL 60510.  A prayer service will be held at 6:45 P.M. on Saturday, September 14, 2019 also at the funeral home.  Interment will be held privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Catherine’s name to a Cancer Research Charity of donor’s choice.
