Maxine A. Bonin

November 9, 1916 - November 12, 2019

Maxine A. (nee Rudy) Bonin passed away on November 12, 2019 surrounded by family. The youngest of 4 children, she was born on November 9, 1916, in Hoopeston, Illinois, to Lottie Pearl (nee Musson) and Grover Cleveland Rudy.  

Maxine lost her brother, Lucian, in 1918, when she was 2-years-old and her father, Grover Cleveland Rudy in 1921.

Her mother remarried and the family moved to Aurora, IL where she attended Lincoln Grade School and West Aurora High School.

She was married on her 19th birthday November 9, 1935, to Robert Bonin in Indiana. They raised their two daughters, Donna and JoAnne in Batavia and moved to North Aurora in 1958, where she lived out the rest of her life.

She was the receptionist and switchboard operator at Furnas Electric for over 30 years. She was an avid lover of animals, always having both poodles and schnauzers. Maxine also made the world’s best hamburgers, cooking dozens at a time for extended family every Saturday for years.

She lost her stepfather Thomas Stewart in 1950, her mother in 1971, her husband in 1988, her sister Helen A. Wach in 2009 and her sister Eva M Brenmark in 2013.

She is survived by her daughters; Donna (Dale) Myers of Geneva and JoAnne of North Aurora, one nephew; Dennis Brenmark of Richmond, Virginia, four grandchildren; Robert (Leilani) Myers of Interlocken, Florida, Leslie Myers of North Aurora, Laurie (Alex) Carmona and Jennifer (Andrew) LaHaye of Geneva, five great-grandchildren; Brandon (Kirsten) Myers, Michael (Krystal) Myers, Kiley and Mathew Berry and Olivia LaHaye, and one great-great grandchild; James Myers. She is also survived by eight step great grandchildren; Jamie Benavides, Jen Hillgoth, Andrew and Sophia LaHaye, Alex, Michael and David Carmona, and three step great-great grandchildren; Alex and Karly VanDorsten and Brayden Greene.

The family wishes to thank Apex Hospice for help making her last days peaceful.
