Kevin Joseph Wynne

November 8, 1955 - January 20, 2020

Kevin Joseph Wynne, age 64 of Lake Geneva WI formerly of Batavia, passed away on January 19, 2020. Kevin was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Matthew and Carmel, and his beloved brothers Matt and Billy.

He was an excellent catcher in the Bellwood Baseball League along with being an outstanding middle linebacker throughout his four years at Proviso West High School.

Kevin’s work included sales, maintenance and construction. He worked for Bloomingdale Bank & Trust facilities for many years, enjoying his work and friendships developed during this time.

The friends he made throughout his life are too many to mention. Most importantly, Kevin honored everyone whose paths crossed with empathy and respect. He was a peaceful, calm man who was so easy to be with & who found joy in making others happy. He brought laughter to everyone he encountered. Kevin was a kind man to all that knew him, possessing a very unique heart of gold which will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

During the past several years, Kevin suffered several health challenges. He was never one to complain about anything including his suffering.

He was the devoted, fun-loving father of Katie and Kevin (Kristin) whom he treasured more than one could imagine. Katie will dearly miss her weekly lunches with her Dad at Steak & Shake or Portillos, followed by an unnecessary shopping spree at Target and Kohls. Kevin and his Dad shared many conversations about everything under the sun on a daily basis with the roles changing to son Kevin giving his “Pop” the advice. Kevin was also a proud grandfather to baby Colter Wynne. He is survived by his former wife Mary Kay Wynne (Wangler) with both having been blessed with an ongoing caring friendship.

Spending hours in Oval Beach, in Saugatuck MI and Lake Geneva, or a beach in Florida whether alone or playing with nieces, nephews, and friend’s kids was Kevin’s favorite past time. He loved being in water shooting water out of his mouth just like any mammal in the ocean.

Kevin leaves behind his loving siblings; Candy, Patty, Mike, Kathy, and Danny, who watched out for his well-being like true family. He was the beloved uncle of many, but particularly had a truly special relationship with his nephews Barney, Matt, and niece Colleen in Wisconsin. He was the adored, playful great uncle to Timmy, Joey, Callie, Kenna, Finn and Maeve of WI. “Big Kid Kevin” was the honorable name longtime friends kid’s Courtney and Connor Belawich greeted Kevin with always, along with his ha ha ha mantra that he’d holler as he approached their Twin Lakes lake house. They’d all truly be waiting for his arrival rubbing palms thinking: it’s gonna be a great day!

Our faith assures us that you’re in heaven with a brand new body Kevin. We only wish we could hear about your homecoming. Love to you forever, and know you’ll not ever be forgotten.

Visitation will be held 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, January 24, 2020 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL.
