Ellen Marie Svec

July 5, 1945 - April 27, 2020

Ellen Marie Svec, 74, of Batavia passed away Monday, April 27, 2020.  She was born July 5, 1945 in Chicago the daughter of John and Bernice (nee Wilhelm) Svec. 

Ellen graduated with a master’s degree from South Illinois University.  She taught special education at Downers Grove North High School until her retirement.  Ellen had a love and passion for all animals.  She volunteered at Fox Valley Wildlife Center.  She was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Batavia.  Ellen enjoyed having lunch with friends or spending time with her beloved pets.     

She is survived by her sister Donna (Leo) Oman; a niece Holly (Jay) Eminger; grand nieces, Morgan Eminger, and Delaney, and a grand-nephew Jacob Eminger. 

Due to COVID-19, all funeral services will be held private.  Interment will be in Concordia Cemetery in Forest Park, IL.
