Elma E. Limkemann

Elma E. Limkemann, 92, of the Holmstad Retirement Community in Batavia, Il., passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva, IL.  Elma was born May 17, 1928, to Anna and Paul Limkemann in Sutter, IL.  She was a member of Salem Sutter Presbyterian Church which latter became the Sutter Salem Bible Church.  Elma graduated from Warsaw High School in 1946.

Elma moved to Chicago, Il. where she graduated from the Moody Bible Institute as a Voice Major.  She was a member ot the Moody Chorale, traveling throughout the United States and the British Isles.  She remained in Chicago for the next 26 years where she continued to be active in solo and radio work.  For 20 years she was a member of the King’s Karollers, a trio for the radio program “Songs in the Night”

She was employed at Durabla Manufacturing Company where she worked as Office Manager in Chicago, IL. and Houston, TX., latter being transferred to their home office in Paoli, PA where she became Manager of Customer Service. 

After retirement she moved to Cincinnati, OH. To live with her sister, Alta Masemore.  Together they moved to the Holmstad retirement Community in Batavia, IL. in 2003.  While in Batavia she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Geneva, IL.

She is survived by her nephews; Ronald Limkemann and Stephen Limkemann.

She was preceded in death by her parents, , her two sisters; Edna Peters and Alta Mary Masemore, and her brother Carl Limkemann.

A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Sutter Salem Bible Church Cemetery,  1026 East County Road 550 N. Warsaw, IL. 62379
