Frances Elaine Quast-Hayden

October 10, 1937 - January 28, 2021

Frances ‘Francie’ Elaine Quast-Hayden, 83, a resident of the Holmstad Retirement Community in Batavia and formerly of Aurora, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021.  She was born October 10, 1937, in Chicago the daughter of Francis John and Ethel Louise (Harner) Zuleger.  She was united in marriage to Richard Hayden.

Francie was a successful real estate agent in the greater Aurora area. Her passion for equal rights and community service lead her to become the first woman to serve as the head of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, the first woman member of the Aurora Rotary Club and was a founding member of Mutual Ground. She was active on the Copley Foundation board, Family Support Center, Women in Management, YWCA, Heart Association, United Way, Woman’s Development Council, Easter Seals, The Aurora Foundation and The Paramount Arts Center endowment. She was awarded The Charlotte Danstrom award in 1989 by Women in Management.

In her retirement she enjoyed traveling and quilting with the Kalico Quilters in Yorkville.

Francie is survived by her children; Roberta (Gary Hartshorn) Watgen of Plainfield, IL, Wendy (John) Dillman of Conover, WI, William Kenneth Quast of Aurora, IL and David Quast of Lake Forest, CA; grandchildren, Tina (Brian) Sprague, Thomas Dillman and Nicolas Quast; two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Connor Sprague; and a sister Marilyn Hitchcock.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Richard Hayden.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, all funeral services have been held privately.  She has been laid to rest in Lincoln Memorial Park, Aurora, IL.
