Elmer Warner

March 1, 1922 - March 19, 2021

Elmer “Red” Warner, 99, a 21-year resident of St. Charles, IL., passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Bria of Geneva.  Elmer was born on March 1, 1922 in Sunderland, MA. The son of Roger Andrew Warner and Florence Chapin Warner. 

Serving in WWII as a Tank Platoon Commander in the 6th Armored Division under General Patton, he was awarded the silver star, Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.  He graduated from the University of Massachusetts and entered the insurance business.  He served as the Regional Director for Group Pensions with Mutual Benefit Life Insurance for 25 years.  He served as President of the Lisle, IL. School Board for a few years. 

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Helen E. Beaumont-Warner, his four children from his first marriage to Phyllis L.H. Warner; Roger A. Warner, Alan C. Warner, Leslie A. Warner and Mark P. Warner; his four grandchildren; and his five great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Elmer’s name may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Sunderland, MA at a later date.
