Carol Paschal

December 25, 1934 - April 23, 2012

Carol Paschal, age 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva.  She was born December 25, 1934 in Durham, North Carolina, the daughter of Cecil and Elizabeth (nee Hobgood) Cooke.  Carol was graduated from Salem College, Winston-Salem, NC in 1957 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics with a minor in Chemistry.  She was united in marriage to John Paschal on August 30, 1958.  Carol lived in St. Charles for over 50 years.  Carol was a very active member of the St. Charles Episcopal Church with a special love for the Alter Guild and arranging flowers. She was a member emeritus of the Pottawatomie Garden Club of St. Charles and won many first place titles for her flower arrangements in state shows.  Carol is survived by her husband, John; her children, Jane (Robert) Burns of Hartland, WI, Cecilia Paschal of Waukegan, IL, and Paul (Cindi) Paschal of Maple Park, IL; four grandchildren Katharine Burns, Ben Burns, Andy Burns, and John Reilly Paschal; two step-grandchildren Tabitha and Robert Kuti; and a brother, Cecil Cooke Jr. of Durham, NC.Carol is preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at St. Charles Episcopal Church, 994 North Fifth Avenue in St. Charles.
