Donald Frank Pieper Jr.

August 25, 1950 - June 27, 2012

Donald Frank Pieper Jr., age 61, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at his residence in St. Charles.  He was born August 25, 1950 in St. Charles, the son of Donald Frank Sr. and Helen Mae (nee Burcham) Pieper.  He was united in marriage to Jane M. Atkinson.

Donald was a laborer for Union Local 96 based out of Glen Ellyn and had been fully enjoying his retirement over the past six years.  He took pleasure riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles and was an avid sports fan, closely following Nascar, the Chicago White Sox and Bears.  He loved boating and Jimmy Buffet music, often enjoying them at the same time.  When passing by his house, Don could often be found sitting outside with his nose in a good book.  He will be dearly missed by his loyal companions, Welsh Terriers, Thor, Maggie Mo, Norton and Rosie too.

He is survived by his beloved wife Jane; his grandchildren, Desiree, Deja and Sierra Bartee all of Elgin; brother, Dennis (Eliska) Pieper of South Elgin; sister, Debby (Mark) Smallwood of Hartville, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Bartee; and a nephew, Eric Smallwood.

A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Moss-Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third Street (three blocks west of the river and one block south of Rt. 64) in St. Charles.

A memorial service will follow the visitation at 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  Interment will be private.
