April 4, 1949 - August 11, 2012

Dennis Edward Oberg, age 63, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at his residence in Batavia after a courageous two year battle with pancreatic cancer.  He was born January 4, 1949 in Joliet, IL, the son of Phillip and Martha (nee Hall) Oberg.
He was united in marriage to Linda Mae Kotar on September 18, 1976 in Oglesby, IL.
Dennis graduated from Joliet Township High School and Southern Illinois at Carbondale with a degree in mechanical engineering.
He worked in the capital equipment business beginning his career at Combustion Engineering Raymond as an engineer and ending his career as vice president of sales for Advanced Boiler Controls Services.  He was recognized by his peers as being ethical, professional and trustworthy.
For many years, he coached Tri City Soccer and supervised the Booster Corn Boil at Batavia high School.  He especially enjoyed watching Aaron in sports and cheering for his teams and in later years being so proud of Aaron in his military career.  Dennis was very supportive of Aaron, Linda and his friends in whatever they did.  He became a realtor along with Linda to help her with her real estate career in the 90’s.
