Sue Ellen Youssi

December 12, 1945 - September 14, 2012

Sue Ellen Youssi, 66, of Batavia, IL and originally of rural Compton, IL, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012, following a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born December 12, 1945, in Mendota, IL the daughter of Ralph and Evelyn (nee Bauer) Gilmore.  She was united in marriage to James Youssi September 9, 1967, in Mendota, IL. Sue was employed for over twenty years with Market Day as a sales representative.  She is survived by her husband James; two children Brian Youssi of Maple Park, IL, and Julia (Michael) Goss of Gurnee, IL; four grandchildren, Tyler Youssi, Emma, Zach and Grace Goss; two brothers Edward (Donna) Gilmore of Paw Paw and Chuck (Betty) Gilmore of Aurora, a sister Marilyn Tomsha of Sparta, WI; father-in-law Fred Youssi of Utah; sisters-in-law, Donna (Gene) Goy of Dixon and Joan Youssi of Batavia; and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents; a mother-in-law Marion Youssi; and two brothers-in-law Daniel Youssi and Carl Tomsha.  Visitation will be held 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Moss Family Funeral Home 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Merritt Funeral Home, 800 Monroe Street, Mendota, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until time of service.   Interment will be in Melugin Grove Cemetery Compton, IL.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that anyone able donate blood to your local blood bank, or monetary contributions may be directed to Leukemia Lymphoma Society 651 West Washington Blvd. Chicago, IL 60661 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
