Vera D. Mack

September 15, 1912 - October 31, 2012

Vera Mack, 100, of Batavia, passed away October 31, 2012 at Provena McAuley Manor. She was born September 15, 1912 in Fletcher Twp, MI the daughter of Peter and Anna (nee Schmaltzer) Klein. She was united in marriage to James R.Mack on June 19, 1937 in Brighton, MI.  Vera graduated with honors from Central Michigan University in 1935. She was a former 4-H leader, past member of Holy Cross Altar and Rosary Society, and past president of Marmion Mother’s Club.  She is survived by her children, Marion E. Smith, Phyllis A. (Bill) Utley, Daniel P. Mack, Sarah K. (Jack) Schuler; grandchildren, John Angus (Jaymee) Smith, Sharon M. (Jim) Stran, James (Deborah) Smith, Mary Anne (Robert) Klank, Elizabeth (Paul) Kregenow, Gretchen (Clay) Cranford, Katherine (Patrick) Coleman, Mary Francis (Dave Cloe) Utley, Sarah (Angus MacAuley) Utley, Norah (Paul Wear) Utley, Matthew (Julie) Utley, Michael Schuler, and Alison (James) Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Ryann Marie Smith, Lauren, Paul, and Caroline Stran, Miranda and Garrett Klank, Thomas and James Kregenow, Clay and Zachary Cranford, Atticus Coleman, Eleanor and Margaret Cloe, Romona Wear, and John and James Utley.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James R. Mack; a daughter, Marcia S. (Tom) Platten; a granddaughter, Margaret Mary Utley; and a son-in-law, John Smith.  Visitation will be held from 4-7 P.M on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., in Batavia.  Funeral services will begin with prayers from the funeral home at 9:15 A.M. on Saturday, November 10, 2012 before processing to Annunciation Catholic Church, 1820 Church Road, in Aurora for the Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Basil Yender will officiate. Interment will follow in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Geneva.
