Leona Florence Klapprich, 100, of St. Charles, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 at Provena Pine View Care Center in St. Charles. She was born June 8, 1912 in LaSalle, IL the daughter of Charles and Emma (nee Faerber) Fritz. She was united in marriage to Raymond Klapprich on November 28, 1935 in Minnesota. The earth has been so blessed for 100 years and heaven has gotten a little brighter as it was blessed with a beautiful angel. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend she will be dearly missed. Leona and her husband moved to St. Charles from Hamel, MN in 1937. Leona was a dedicated mother raising her only daughter Patricia and supporting her husband in his endeavors. In her later years she enjoyed working for the Merra Lee Shop in Geneva for over 20 years until her retirement. Leona and her husband enjoyed retirement; in the winter they would stay in Alamo, TX. She was an avid bridge player, gardener, loved to go fishing and was a wonderful old fashioned cook who had a knack for making great chicken noodle soup. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Kane County Home Extension. Family was Leona’s first priority and she loved babysitting for her grandchildren and spending time with her great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Patricia (John) Hollis of St. Charles; four grandchildren Diane Ferriss, Richard Ferriss, David (Diane) Ferriss and Denise (Brett) Perry; seven great-grandchildren Daniel, Claire and Abigail Ferriss and Hannah, Cole, Sawyer and Lukas Perry; four siblings Evelyn Evans, Florence Allen, Lester (Esther) Fritz and Emmaline Rasmussen. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Raymond, and her siblings Carl Fritz, Mildred Lucas, Hazel Wilson, Floyd Fritz, Raymond Fritz, Pearl Keasling, and Ernest Fritz. Visitation will be held 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Moss-Norris Funeral Home 100 South Third Street St. Charles, IL. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 10, 2012 at Moss-Norris Funeral Home before proceeding to St. Patrick Catholic Church 400 Cedar St. Charles, IL to celebrate Mass at 10:30 A.M. A private burial will take place in Delano Minnesota.
