Ralph Gage Hartwig

August 31, 1936 - December 9, 2012

Ralph Gage Hartwig, age 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at his residence in St. Charles.  He was born August 31, 1936 in Chicago, IL, the son of Oliver and Gladys (nee Taylor) Hartwig.  He was married to his high school sweetheart, Louise Aadland on October 5, 1957 in Chicago, IL. 

Ralph loved life and he lived it to the fullest.  He worked in construction his whole life, starting out as a laborer and working his way up to general superintendant.  He enjoyed thirty years with Corrigan Construction Company and retired at age 64 with Bulley and Andrews Construction Company.  Ralph loved working in his yard and spending as much time as possible at the cabin he and his wife, Louise, bought in Fox Lake in 1983.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Louise; a daughter, Amy; two older daughters; five grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Jean Straub of Des Plaines; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded in death by his brothers, Oliver Jr., Edgar, and Charles Hartwig; and his sisters, Muriel Mehl and Beverly McSorly.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Moss-Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third St. (three blocks west of the river and one block south of Rt. 64) in St. Charles. 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Prairie Cemetery in St. Charles, IL.
