Nancy M. Fischer

January 7, 1924 - January 9, 2013

Nancy M. Fischer, age 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Brighton Gardens in St. Charles.  She was born January 7, 1924 in St. Charles, the daughter of George and Helen (nee Faitz) Marshall.  She was united in marriage to Warren Fischer on October 25, 1947.

 She is survived by her three children, Jonathan Fischer of St. Charles, Kristen (Steven Holy) Fischer of Champaign, IL and Hannah (Dan) Bonicatto of Waconia, MN; two grandsons, Anthony and Andrew; her siblings, Peggy Lohs, Barbara Anderson, William (Phyllis) Marshall, George "Bud" (Barbara) Marshall Jr., Joan (Dave) Olsen, and Jack (Dottie) Marshall; and many nieces and nephews.

 In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Warren; a brother, Robert Marshall; and brothers-in-law, Chet Anderson and Clifford Lohs.

 Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Moss-Norris Funeral Home 100 S. Third St. (3 blocks west of the river, 1 block south of Rt. 64) in St. Charles.

 A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Moss-Norris Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva.

  • Steven Carlson The loss of Nancy Fischer is heartfelt by many persons for many reasons. For me, the fact that Nancy and her husband Warren were my godparents had very special meaning. I always have been proud - and remain so -that such wonderful people played this role in my life. To her family I send my sympathy at your loss.
  • Duane & Ann Carlson Nancy brightened our lives and the world itself. We were privileged to know her from the time she married Duane's Uncle Warren. She was forthright with her concepts of fairness and equality and we enjoyed our conversations (and card playing) with her and Warren. Nancy made her mark in many places and forums, including Cornell College where she, Warren - as well as their son Jonathan - and we graduated. Heaven is a livlier place today with Nancy aboard.
