Wilbur “Bud” German, 89, of Aurora, passed away February 17, 2013 at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 29, 1923 in Breinigsville, PA, the son of Wilbur F. and Vera (nee O’Neil) German. Bud proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Bud worked at Metro Paint Supplies in Elgin and United Auto in Aurora. He was an avid baseball fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago White Sox. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Aurora for over 40 years. Later, he was a member of the Congregational Church of Batavia. He is survived by his daughter, Debra (Ralph) Anderson of Downers Grove; his grandchildren, Steven and Kimberlee Anderson; a sister, Jean Weiant of Allentown, PA; a sister-in-law, Barbra German; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Elaine Schimelpfenig and her family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two wives, Shirley Eyre and Marian Murphy; a sister, Gloria (Charles) Heintzelman; and a brother, Robert German. Visitation will be held from 4-8 P.M. on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. at the Congregational Church of Batavia, 21 S. Batavia Avenue, Batavia, IL 60510 where he will lie in state from 10 A.M. until the time of service. Rev. Greg Skiba will officiate. Interment will follow in Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora.
