Goldie A. Anderson

April 17, 1912 - March 3, 2013

Goldie A. Anderson, age 100, of Yorkville, formerly of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora.  She was born April 17, 1912 in Superior, WI, the daughter of Gust and Hulda (nee Haklstron) Nordstrom.  She was united in marriage to Sherman Anderson.  Goldie was affectionately known as the “cookie lady” in Batavia, as she delivered freshly baked cookies to various government offices throughout town.   She was a talented seamstress, working as a garment worker for several coat makers in Aurora and Batavia.  Goldie was a faithful woman, and truly believed Jesus was her best friend.  She is survived by her children, Terry (Kathleen) Anderson of Yorkville, and Carol (Alan) Smith of Sharon, WI; her grandchildren, Tammy (Mike) Loonam, Tom (Patty) Smith, Catherine Smith, Dan (Erin) Smith, John Weber, Jeff Weber, Steve (Lorinda) Anderson, and Katie (Michael) Hand; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Peter, Mary, Rachel, Rebecca, Collin, Jackson, Wylder, Byrdie, Jacob, Matthew, Kylie, Page, Conrad, Caleb, Grace, Alexis, Addyson, Keren, and Nevaeh.  In addition to her parents, Goldie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sherman, four sisters, and two brothers.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave. (Rt. 31) in Batavia.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia.
